Rock Paper Sushi is a digital content marketing consultancy. We were consulting independently around 2018, but we formalized the company in 2021. Despite leading marketing and communications departments for large organizations, we wanted to explore working with different industries and breaking free from the static processes that a lot of long-established businesses cling to. Our first foray into the world of consulting saw us creating articles, press, marketing campaigns, ebooks, sales collateral, elaborate videos, podcasts, and social media for startups and smaller healthcare clients. There was one company whose CEO asked how to start a cult. Not kidding. But also not our field, although the marketing would have been interesting.
Anyway, others reached out and asked if we'd be willing to help their businesses grow.
Rock Paper Sushi was born shortly thereafter. We're particularly thrilled to support LGBTQ+ organizations, WBEs, MBEs, and all underrepresented entrepreneurs.
To not suck. To use our experience, creativity, talent, lessons learned, and informed research to deliver compelling content -- little nuggets of wisdom that speak to people with sincerity while educating them, solving their challenges, and giving them a reason a use the companies we support, rather than producing hogwash that attempts to manipulate or goad them into making purchases they probably wouldn't have made in the absence of badgering and demagoguery.
integrity | honesty | compassion | ethics | inclusion | standing against clear wrongdoing | doing work we believe in | supporting people we believe in | saying "no" to a helluva lot of people we don't believe in
Too many industries continue to rely on outdated models and static solutions. We believe in progress and change. If you share this vision, have bold ideas about reinventing communications and engagement, and would like to buddy up with a diverse, fun-loving culture that wants nothing to do with frat house mindsets and good ole boy clubs, we're your people.
Culture fit is huge here. And I don't mean we all look alike or think the same way. That's antithetical to our culture. Equal opportunity? Yes, unequivocally. As a minority-owned enterprise, we understand the value of diversity and cherish the opportunity to find others with fresh perspectives and unique insights. Inclusion and acceptance are hallmarks of our organization, as well as integral attributes of our culture. Our team members are valued as individuals who share the same vision for the company. We embrace and encourage openness. It's safe here, folks. We tolerate NO discrimination of any kind. If you search your soul and feel that there are individuals you may consider lesser beings because they differ from you, don’t bother reading any further. Different is the norm here.
So, if you're a bit of a misfit (in a great way, not the rogue, outlaw, causing problems way), we'll get along famously.
